Richard Disney has always had a great affection for Nevada and was often heard referring to the Silver State as “The Last Free State” even before moving here. Mr. Disney would often visit Reno during his days at U.C. Davis and always had in his mind that he would like to settle down here and raise a family. Not too long after leaving the Army, Richard settled into Northern Nevada permanently in the year 2000 to start his own small business and raise a family.
Mr. Disney was shocked at the events of September 11, 2001 and looked for a way once again to serve. When Richard saw what transpired during the Nevada Legislative Session of 2003, he was motivated to run for election to the Nevada State Assembly.
Mr. Disney has been a great admirer of the fact that the Nevada State Legislature convenes for only four months every other year. One of Richard’s favorite quotes is by Will Rogers which says, “The only time a man’s life, liberty and property are safe is when congress is NOT in session!” Richard Disney is a strong Fiscal and Moral Conservative who is determined to fight for lower taxes, less government regulation and family values.
